Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of child witnesses and eyewitness memories in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is the author of numerous research publications as well as numerous grants and is the recipient of a variety of international and national awards. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies as well as research on child victims in the legal system. She acts as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the president of America Psychological Association's divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
